Promise Lang LLC, a Texas limited liability company ("we", "us"), operates promise-lang.org.
What we collect. Aggregate, cookie-free site analytics that do not identify individual visitors, and technical data inherent in serving a web request, including IP address. Your email address, if you subscribe to our newsletter. Your GitHub account details, if you comment on our blog or contribute to the project. Anything you choose to send us by email.
Why. To operate and improve the site and the project, to send the newsletter you asked for, and to answer you. Our legal bases are your consent for the newsletter, which you may withdraw at any time by unsubscribing, and our legitimate interests for everything else.
Who else receives it. Our hosting, newsletter, comment and sponsorship providers, each under its own privacy policy: Cloudflare, Buttondown, GitHub, giscus and LinkedIn. We do not sell or share personal information as the CCPA defines those terms, and have not done so in the preceding twelve months. We do not advertise and we set no cookies.
LinkedIn. We use LinkedIn's API to read analytics for our own posts, authorized by our own account. We receive aggregate counts only; they do not identify individual LinkedIn members, and we do not combine, sell, share or transfer them. No one signs in through us, and we never request access to another member's data. Email us and we will delete any LinkedIn data you believe we hold about you.
How long. For as long as needed for the purpose above: until you unsubscribe, in the case of the newsletter; for the life of the project, in the case of contribution records; otherwise until the matter is closed.
Your rights. Email hello@promise-lang.org to access, correct, delete or restrict what we hold, or to object to our processing, and we will respond within 30 days. If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom you may also complain to your supervisory authority. We do not respond to browser Do Not Track signals.
International. We are in the United States and our providers process data there.
Changes. We will post any change on this page and update the effective date above.
